It is our mission to develop well-rounded, confident and responsible citizens who aspire to achieve their full potential. We will do this by providing a welcoming, safe, and supportive learning environment in which everyone is included and all achievements are celebrated.
Our vision is to create a school community where all children feel loved, respected and encouraged to develop to their fullest potential while acquiring a love and appreciation for learning.

ABOUT MRS. SCOTT
Mrs. Sarah Scott taught at DSE for 47 years. She was one of LPSB's first African American educators after integration took place in the 1970s. Mrs. Scott retired after teaching for 50 years on May 26, 2018.
On Thursday, February 4, 2022, the Livingston Parish School Board passed a resolution to name the east first-floor wing of DSE "Sarah Scott Early Childhood Wing."
